Minimums:
Flight Operations Intern -
Must possess a genuine interest in a career as a commercial pilot. 
Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating preferred
Must be currently enrolled in or have successfully completed an accredited degree granting program

Flight Operations Interns will work closely with the Chief Pilots, in Atlanta, GA. Upon successful completion of the internship, each intern will be guaranteed an interview for a pilot position at lower than published flight experience requirements.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: AirTran Airways Flight Operations currently has a number of unpaid internships available. The Flight Operations internship is designed for students pursuing a career as a commercial airline pilot. As a Flight Operations intern, students learn valuable, firsthand information about one of the largest low-fare airlines. 

Most interns will have the opportunity to attend ground school, jumpseat, and spend time in a full flight simulator. 

Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program as a junior or senior majoring in aviation or aeronautical science. 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
- Ability to anticipate and resolve problems in an expeditious manner 
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
- Work record which reflects strong leadership skills, superior performance and 
- high ethical standards 
- Strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and accountability 
- Professional appearance and demeanor 
- Ability to provide 10 years of employment, education, unemployment history per FAR 108.33 
- Belief and support of AirTran Airways’ Guiding Principles: Safety, Courtesy, Pride, Teamwork, and Innovation 
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship 
- Valid non-suspended Driver's License 
- Ability to work any available schedule to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime
